Speculation: the footer text likely has value “$1 and $2” where $1 and $2 are common placeholder formats to insert non-text elements like links. Most other languages kept them as is (or even entire string untranslated), while Chinese language translated them as “1 U.S. Dollar and 2 U.S. Dollars” literally, thus breaking the placeholder replacements.
