Incorrect “value formatting” confuses users when dates, numbers or currencies aren’t localized properly. Displaying “1,234.56 $” in French locales looks odd—in France they’d write “1 234,56 $”. Similarly, East Asian users expect “1.2 万” instead of “12K” for 12 000.
